A Message from the Principal.

Welcome to Aquinas College. We endeavour to be a dynamic and innovative learning community, striving to create an environment to meet the diverse needs of all students. We enjoy classroom facilities that enhance the learning experience, encourage differentiation and promote individual resourcefulness. Aquinas is a place in which hospitality is valued and a warm welcome awaits.

Our College motto – ‘Illuminare et Ardere’ is interpreted by us to mean ‘To Light Up and Be on Fire’. In all that happens at Aquinas there is great enthusiasm and as a school based on the gospel values of Jesus Christ we make every endeavor to provide an enjoyable and challenging Catholic secondary education.

Each year we choose one of our Core Values as a focus and, in 2018, we highlight our first Core Value ‘Spirituality’. Our mission statement challenges us to "nurture a connectedness to God and a Catholic faith that is informed by scripture, tradition and the regional parish communities".  In trying to develop an understanding of spirituality in our community we have chosen the scripture reference I am the vine; you are the branches” (John 15:5) that asks us to contemplate a familiar metaphor for flourishing as one family connected to Christ. We value strong relationship with our local church, especially our founding parishes, and continue to strive to help build vibrant parish communities.

We are accredited with the highly regarded Council of International Schools which has seven hundred members across the world. At the same time we are committed to every student experiencing success in their personal learning and life development. It is for this reason that we provide a comprehensive curriculum and offer strong support programs enabling students to achieve their very best. A collaboration of experienced and passionate staff deliver this curriculum, complemented by state of the art facilities which are fully equipped to manage the technology required in the classroom of the future. Middle Years students utilise the iPad as a wonderful resource and tool for learning and Senior Years students are permitted to use any suitable device that they find most appropriate to their learning needs.

I invite you to explore our website and learn more about our dynamic and inclusive community.
