In our new Pope’s first address, he issued a vision of our Catholic Church’s role - and by extension, each of us as Christ’s faithful servants - in seeking dialogue to promote peace and alleviate suffering:“We are disciples of Christ, Christ goes before us, and the world needs his light. Humanity needs him as the bridge to be reached by God and his love. Help us too, and then each other to build bridges, with dialogue, with encounter, uniting us all to be one people always in peace.. …we want to be a synodal church, walking and always seeking peace, charity, closeness, especially to those who are suffering.
